Audra's Wonderland!

Today while I was working with Audra on her school, I became overwhelmed with gratitude and thankfulness. I am so lucky to be able to stay home and teach my children. Audra is such a bright and smart little girl. She has a love for learning that excites me. Since I am able to stay home I am able to teach the basics but also really go into depth and teach way beyond in subjects she is interested in. I do not take this blessing for granted one bit because I know a lot of mom's and dad's wish they could stay home but can't. God is good!

Ok on to what is going on in Audra's world.

She is the best big sister! She is so awesome with Adiah. She loves running and getting things he needs. I don't know how I would do it without her help.

With a new brother though we have had to start working on some attitude issues. It has been a big change for her to go from having Mom and Dad to herself for 4 years to sharing her time with a very high demanding baby. She is getting better everyday though.

Audra got her ears pierced. After she got her first ear pierced I thought we might be walking out of the store with one earring, but she put her brave face on and got the other side done. She loves her earrings!

Audra has started to learn the dances for her Ballet recital. She loves to dance and is very excited.
I asked what she was learning for her dances and her reply was "Oh you know Mom, chasses, tondus, plies, pirouettes, you know that kind of stuff". She cracks me up. I can't wait to see it.

That is a few things going on in her world. I am just so glad to be a part of it!

Adiah's One Monthday!

I woke up this morning thinking:

Where has the time gone?
Wasn't it just yesterday I was bringing home my little man?
How does he barely fit into his bassinet, he literally only took up half a few days ago...right?

All of this can't be true though because it is January 21st, marking Adiah turning one month old. I can't believe how time is flying by. We are so glad to have him in our lives. Our family feels complete!

Things he can do at one month:

hold his head up
sleep 5 to 6 hours straight at night
recognize his family
Look adorable
He rolled over from stomach to back twice in belly times

We are looking forward to the months to come! Happy One Month Bubbie!

My Panic Attack!

As I was be-popping around in the bedroom to music and organizing some boxes, I heard a yell coming from the kitchen (Ryan was cutting vegetables to make stir fry for lunch). I quickly ran in and asked what was wrong and He was standing at the sink saying he cut his finger and he was groaning in pain.

Now if you know me I can somewhat panic when it comes to someone getting hurt, soooo... I went over to see if I could help/fix/be-a-mother-kissing-a-boo-boo for his finger. As I got closer and saw the knife by the sink and the water running over his finger he starts to say "get the tip of my finger out of the sink". WAIT... WHAT???

I started to panic, but I was trying to hold it together and not freak out. I am looking and see nothing... I tell him I don't see it... but he is telling me it's in there. I am now moving dishes and of course it is on the garbage disposal side. Now I am thinking how I am going to get my husbands finger out of the garbage disposal....

Then he starts laughing and shows me his finger with a little cut.... Yeah, I pretty much had a heart attack for nothing. He hugged me and said "Aw.... You still Love me". Umm... yeah I love you... maybe not now... Well yes I do, but still.

Then he proceeded to ask if I had any band aids. Yeah, I have one buddy, but not for you. Ok, so I gave him a band aid and fixed his cut with Neosporin. Next time, I think I might let him bleed out if he cries wolf again.

I am just thankful he is one piece and our day is not spent in the emergency room trying to get his garbage-disposal-germ-infested-finger attached back to his hand. Be grateful for the little things. Oh, yeah and thankful for the ability to laugh and find the funniness in my husbands kind of "joke".

Waving Goodbye to 2011

New Year's Eve night was kind of a sad night. Ryan and I talked about how much we enjoyed 2011. It was a very good year for our family.  I feel so blessed and appreciative for the blessings God poured out onto us. Here are some main events from this year.

The obvious main event was Adiah Allan was born on December 21st. Healthy and already almost out of newborn clothes.

He only saw ten days of 2011 but we are looking forward to having him grow in 2012!

Ryan finished his second year of med school by nailing his step one boards.

He went on a mission trip to El Salvador with the Christian Medical Association over Spring Break. He was able to help a lot of people in need with medical care.

He was selected to go to the Betty Ford Center in California and work with the patients. He really enjoyed it.

Started third year of med school. He also has been able to work on some neat research.

Ryan had the privilege and the honor to deliver our New addition to the family Adiah Allan. It was an amazing moment for both of us!

I was elected Secretary of the Student Advocate Association (med student wives/significant others group). I have enjoyed being a part of such a great group of ladies and gentlemen. It really has been a great support group for me throughout this process.

I was able to be apart of my sister's wedding. It was such a great experience and the ceremony was beautiful.

I started homeschooling Audra Leigh. It has been so fun to watch her learn and grow.

I started a book club in January and it has grown throughout the year. I love having a monthly meeting to get together with my friends and talk about one of my favorite things... BOOKS!

I was able to give birth to my little sweet boy!

Audra had a great year of firsts. She is my sunshine!

She played soccer in the Spring. She enjoyed running back and forth following the ball. She wasn't interested in kicking the ball, but she was great moral support for her team. :)

She started Ballet in the summer. She LOVES dancing. Her teacher says she is a natural.

She turned 4 years old and had a super hero birthday party. She was spider girl and had a batman cake. Then got to go to her first Barnum and Bailey Circus.

She has started learning bible verses. It is so awesome to hear her recite God's word. I am a very proud momma!

She fell in love with the Rangers! We enjoyed watching the World Series.

She has taken her role as Big Sis very seriously! She loves her baby brother.

A few other events!
Spontaneous trip to Winter Park with family!

First family vacation to New Orleans!

Found out we were pregnant!

Annual trip to Belton with Ryan's family.

Wow... 2012 is here. Ryan and I brought the New Year with excitement and anticipation to see what God has in store for us. I pray everyone a year of blessings and hope! I can tell this year will be amazing! Happy New Year!
