Ok, so the "magic" cup of coffee is not really the magic. Although every morning it does give me the little pick me up I need to actually feel ready to face my day, it gave me something more this morning. It gave me a reminder of how much I enjoy time with my best friend.
Today, I was woke up by my husband. Usually, in the morning he just gets ready for med school and kisses me on his way out while I am still in bed with morning breath and messed up hair. I usually give him a half awake kiss and mumble something like "I love you" but comes out as more of a "hum muum muw". For some reason though, he asked if I would get up and drink a cup of coffee with him. As much as my warm, comfy bed felt I decided to get up. I am so glad I did.
We sat at our table and talked for a good hour and half. We talked about things we needed to, but then we were able to move on to funny things. We were both laughing and making jokes by the end of our cup. Now it was not like we never talk, but we both get bogged down with our responsibilities. By the end of day we usually feel like talking about the bare necessities or important things that happened during the day. There is also the fact that we spend quality family time with Audra. So there isn't usually time to completely enjoy each others company as a couple.
I am so thankful for my husband and proud of how hard he is working in medical school, but most of all I am thankful for little moments where we can just revert back to best friends and have fun basking in each others presence. It is the little things like this morning and a "magic" cup of coffee that brings me back to how important it is to make time just for Ryan. So maybe I will start getting up with him a little bit more and Thank You, Cup of Joe for making my start of the day amazing.
Here are a few pictures that make me happy.
Have a great day and I hope everyone takes time to appreciate what is important in life today!
