Big News!

So for those of you who don't know, I'm PREGNANT! 

I am so happy to finally say I will be having another baby. I was ready for another baby two days after Audra was born. Ok, maybe not two days after, but pretty close. Ryan was not ready. It was exciting to see the process and finally the moment when Ryan was excited and ready to have another baby. 

Looking back, I am so glad we waited this long to have another one though. We are finally at a great point in Med School and Ryan will be more available to enjoy the babies early months. Also, I have had nausea and I have no idea how I would be able to coop if I had a baby/toddler in the house. It has been so nice with Audra perfectly content laying down with me when I didn't feel good. She would read to me, sing, watch cartoons, or just play with her toys next to me in my bed.  For our family four year waiting time has been perfect! 

Now to the best part, Audra's reaction to having a baby brother or sister. First, I have to explain that Audra has been begging for a sibling for almost two years now. She has watched her best friends get baby brothers/sisters and didn't understand why she wasn't getting one. She even told her preschool teacher a couple of times that there was a baby in her mommy's belly. So you can imagine how excited she got when we told her. 

We told her by showing her the ultrasound pictures and this is how the conversation went.  

 Ryan sat the ultrasound on the table in front of her.

Ryan: Do you know what it is?

Audra: Stickers? 

(we both laugh)

Ryan: No, it is a picture of a baby.

Audra looks at the pictures and then looks at us questioningly.

Ryan: It's the baby in mommy's belly. You are going to be a big sister.

Audra: (look of shock, slowly registers) MOM, Can I see????

Me: Yes. It's in my belly and it is going to be your baby. It will grow and then come out just for you!

Audra: ( at this point she is clapping, smiling, and feeling my belly.) Mom, I just can't wait for the baby to come out of your mouth! 

Ryan and I laughed so hard at this point.

Me: Well, it won't be able to come out of my mouth, Audra, but it will come out and be here for you. 

Audra: (looking back down at the pictures, then back at me) I am just so glad we are going to have three!

Again Ryan and I burst out laughing.

Ryan: No, just one Audra. There is three pictures of the same baby!

So that was the biggest part of the conversation! She makes me laugh so hard. She is so excited and cute. Every day she comes and talks to the baby. Majority of the time she tells the baby she misses the baby and knows baby misses her. It melts my heart every time she lays her head on my belly and says, "baby, I love you!" I know she will be a great big sister. She is already working on a list of things she is planning on teaching the baby. I am so blessed!
